A person who was walking on a road Monday was killed in a crash with an SUV, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The collision happened at about 3 p.m. in Florence County, said Lance Cpl. Lena Butler.

One person was killed Saturday when a car ran off a Midlands road and crashed, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The single-vehicle collision happened at about 8:20 a.m. in Calhoun County, said Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway.

During a 12-hour span Saturday, there were three fatal crashes in Orangeburg County where five people were killed and another person was injured, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The first collision, a two-vehicle wreck, happened on Interstate 26 at about 4:20 a.m., said Master Trooper Gary Miller.
