Here's what you need to know about what time polls open on Election Day in your state before you leave to go vote.

If you're voting on Election Day, polls in Texas are open from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m. local time. As long as you're in the line by 7 p.m., you will be allowed to vote even if you haven’t been admitted inside a polling place. You have the right to stay in line as long as it takes to be able to cast your ballot.

In Kansas, polls will close between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. depending on the time zone of the county. Polls will close between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.depending on the time zone of the county.

The polls opened at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m. in New Jersey, allowing 14 hours for in-person voting on Election Day.

That’s not the only thing that will be decided at the polls though, with abortion, marijuana, and local and state representative elections also set to be voted on down ballotOn election day, polling hours vary state by state—sometimes even county by county.

Polls in Texas close at 9 p.m. Central Time, but those in Alaska stay open much longer — with some closing at midnight Central Time.
